With great excitement, these amazing, high speed, powerboats are here to roar…. Oops, SOAR across the Gulf waters of Fort Myers Beach, where we are more than a little proud and hugely excited to have them for the National Championship Race Event. Part of the Offshore Powerboat Association (OPA), the events and sport itself have dramatically increased in popularity. The National Championship is the culmination of the entire OPA race season. The Roar Offshore APBA National Championship takes place on Fort Myers Beach, in the month of October. Racing enthusiasts descend upon Fort Myers Beach by the tens of thousands!
While the island of Key West may be physically small, it's only about 2 by 4 miles. What the island offers it's visitors, in the form of celebrations, festivals and all around fun for young and old, is anything but small.
Key West celebrates this annual St. Patrick's Day Event every March 17th.
The original “Bar None Suds Run” was established in 1979 by Rick Dostal and continues to this day! Click on the link below for stories by a few who evidently have some recollections!
